Blown Tire Causes Semi Accident

(DEKALB COUNTY) – No injuries were report in a one vehicle accident.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says at 1:46 AM Wednesday, deputies were called to Northbound I-69 near the 329 mile marker for a disabled vehicle. When they arrived, they determined the vehicle was a semi with a loaded trailer.

The semi driver, 57 year old Larry Johnston of Parkhill, Ontario, Canada, told deputies his front passenger tire went flat, causing the semi to strike the barriers, then traveling between 400 and 500 feet before stopping in the median.

The semi was removed from the median. Johnston was not injured, and the semi sustained between $5,000 and $10,000 in damages.
