(INDIANAPOLIS) – Counties around Northeast Indiana saw their unemployment rates increase from May to June.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released the numbers for June. LaGrange County saw their unemployment increase from 3% to 3.2% over the month.
Steuben County went up from 3.5% to 3.7%. Noble County saw an increase from 3.3% to 3.4%, while DeKalb County saw their unemployment grow from 3.1% to 3.3%.
Elkhart County had the largest increase in the area from 3.6% to 3.9%.
Cities around Northeast Indiana also had increases to their unemployment. Elkhart grew from 4.2% to 4.6%. Fort Wayne saw an increase from 3.3% to 3.6% and Goshen went from 3.6% to 3.8%.
Statewide, the unemployment rate dropped from 3.7% in May to 3.6% in June.
