(DEFIANCE, OH) – Alcohol and drugs are suspected in a crash that killed one person and injured two others.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says troopers were called out investigate a two vehicle crash at 11:25 AM Monday near State Road 15 and Deerfoot Drive. Investigators says a pickup driven by 58 year old Mark Riebsehl of Defiance was traveling east when he crossed the centerline and crashed into an SUV, driven by 67 year old Dewey Nagel, also of Defiance.

Nagel was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Riebsehl was injured and flown from the scene to a hospital. His passenger, 22 year old Avery Calhoun of Defiance, was also taken to a hospital. Riebsehl was not wearing a seatbelt, while Calhoun was.

The crash remains under investigations.
