Driver Taken to Hospital After I-69 Crash Sunday

A woman was taken the hospital following a single car crash Sunday afternoon on I-69. The accident happened just after 3 p.m.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department say that a vehicle driven by Andrea Thoel, age 42 of Garret, was was driving south on I-69 near the 324 mile marker. She told authorities she was in the passing lane when she lost control of her vehicle due to the road conditions.

She ran off the roadway on the east side of I-69 and struck the cable barrier with the front of GMC Envoy. The vehicle continued to spin around counter clockwise 4-6 times until coming to a rest a facing North.

Thoel complained of head pain and pain to her left arm. She was transported to DeKalb Health for further medical treatment.

Her vehicle received front damage to the driver and passenger sides.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the DeKalb EMS and the Auburn Fire Department.
