Michigan’s March Unemployment Unchanged From February

LANSING – Michigan’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate saw no change from February to March.

The Michigan Center for Data and Analytics says the jobless rate remained at 3.9% from February to March. Employment advanced by 8,000, while unemployment fell by 3,000, resulting in a statewide labor force increase of 5,000 over the month.

The largest increases for the month were in Total Nonfarm Payroll Jobs (+6) Construction (+4), and Government (+2).

Wayne Rourke, Labor Market Information Director for the Center for Data and Analytics, says Michigan’s labor market continued to remain constant over the month.

Michigan’s March jobless rate was up one-tenth of a point from the National rate of 3.8%.
