
(LAGRANGE COUNTY) - Details have been released about the arrest of a Stroh man on Sunday, November 2nd by LaGrange County Sheriff's Deputies. Steven Ritchie, 50, allegedly tried to evade a traffic stop by driving through a yard on S 1145 E before coming to a stop. Ritchie was initially charged with driving without a license. Later, as Ritchie was being taken to jail, officers found he had multiple plastic baggies filled with suspected methamphetamine and one bag of what is believed to be marijuana. Officers say Ritchie became violent when asked about the drugs and officers used a taser to keep him under control during an ensuing scuffle. Ritchie refused medical treatment after being tased. One jailer was treated and released from Parkview LaGrange Hospital after the incident. Ritchie now faces additional charges of resisting law enforcement, resisting with a motor vehicle, and battery to law enforcement.
