First Flu Death Of Season Reported in Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The first flu-related death of the 2025-26 influenza season has been confirmed by the Indiana Department of Health. Officials advise the following precautions: getting vaccinated, practicing good hand hygiene, and isolating at home when ill. Indiana's flu season usually runs from October til May. More than 660 people died in the state last year from flu-related illness. Health officials stress that early flu vaccines are the most effective way to reduce the risk of severe illness or death from influenza.
