Angola Police Get New Equipment

(ANGOLA) – The Angola Police Department has received some new equipment.

Wednesday the department hosted the sponsors who very generously donated to help them purchase a new LD-1 ballistic armored ATV by TC Burton Enterprises.

Angola Police Chief Ken Whitmire explains what the device would be used for if needed. LINKC.

Whitmire says the device looks like a little tank. It is a reinforced shell on a Polaris 850 4-wheeler and is designed to be as bullet proof as possible.

Whitmire says the cost of the unit was almost $57,000, and the Police Department went to the community and received several sponsors to help pay for the device.

The Angola Police Department is so grateful for the following contributions: Cardinal IG Fremont, JICI Construction, Croxton and Roe Insurance Services, First Federal Savings Bank of Angola, Wagler and Associates Inc., Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, John Stock REM/MAX Results, Tri State Customs and Offroad, Vestil Manufacturing, and New Millennium.
