(OVID TOWNSHIP) – A crash between a motorcycle and a pick up sent one person to the hospital.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office says just after 4:30 PM Wednesday, 60 year old Joseph Griffiths of Angola, Indiana was driving his pick up northbound on Old U.S. 27, just south of Warren Road. Griffiths says he stopped and was waiting for traffic moving south to clear so he could turn into a driveway, when he was struck from behind by a motorcycle, being operated by 37 year old Randall Atkins of Bronson.
Atkins was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne to be treated for his injuries. He told deputies he did not see the pick up stopped in the road.
The Lakeland Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance assisted at the scene. The incident is still being investigated.
