Quincy Schools Water Is Safe To Drink
Wednesday, March 13, 2024

QUINCY, Mich. – The Quincy Schools’ water supply has no issues and is safe to drink.

That was the crux of a letter from Quincy Superintendent Marc Kramer that was posted on the School District’s website. Kramer says Quincy Schools in conjunction with the Village of Quincy, hired Trace Analytical Laboratories to conduct water testing at the Middle School and the High School. The bulk of the test results were received by the District February 29 and posted to the school’s website.

Kramer says the last strand of the testing results, which took longer to test, was received by the School District March 8 and posted to the District website. The tests indicated there were no issues with the Quincy Schools’ water supply.

As an added measure, Kramer says the test results were forwarded to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy. EGLE reviewed the two sets of test results and did not find anything of concern.

Kramer says in light of this news, Quincy Schools will be returning to its normal water supply and will discontinue bottled water. Water fountains with bottle fillers will be available for use.
