ASHLEY, IN - On Thursday morning just before 2 a.m. Ashley-Hudson police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Garfield Street for a report of a stolen Chevy S-10.
Officers arrived on scene and were shown video footage of a suspect, identified by authorities as Austin J Bonecutter, age 30 of Hudson, near the vehicle.
The vehicle and suspect had been involved in a separate dealing with police in rural Steuben County hours prior to the vehicle being reported stolen.
Officers later interviewed Bonecutter and developed probable cause to arrest him for a level 6 felony auto theft.
