Williams County, OH - The Bryan Times is reporting communities throughout Williams County are looking at their electric rates as COVID-19-related shutdowns mean “big-ticket purchasers” aren’t using the same amount of electricity as planned.
In Edgerton, it has already led to a $183,000 deficit. According to The Bryan Times, three options were discussed by Edgerton officials as to how to combat the issue, with the council expected to choose next week.
Meanwhile, according to The Bryan Times, the Pioneer Village Council voted to keep the village’s electric rates down during a special meeting over the weekend.
Many local leaders say because of the COVID-19 pandemic, wholesale rates of electricity will see a “dramatic increase” in the near future.
