(INDIANAPOLIS) – Unemployment dropped around Northeast Indiana during August.
Information released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development shows that Allen County had the largest drop for the month, going from 4.9% to 3.7% (-1.2%).
Both LaGrange and Elkhart Counties went down a full percent. LaGrange from 4.6% to 3.6% while Elkhart dropped from 5.1% to 4.1%.
Steuben County saw a decrease in unemployment from 4.3% to 3.9%, Noble County went from 4.5% to 3.6% and DeKalb County saw a drop from 3.7% to 3.4%.
Some Northeast Indiana cities also had a decrease in unemployment for August. Goshen had the largest from 5.6% to 4.2%. Elkhart went from 5.3% to 4.7% and Fort Wayne from 4.1% to 3.8%.
