Several area basketball games were canceled Friday night due to the heavy snow fall. Many of those games have been rescheduled for tonight.

Tonight's Westview at Prairie Heights boys basketball game that was originally scheduled for Friday night will be played tonight starting with the freshman game at 5 p-m with the JV and Varsity to follow. It all happens at Prairie Heights.

Fremont's home basketball game with Fairfield last night was postponed until next Saturday, on February 17th at 2 p.m.

The boys Eastside Garrett game was one of the only ones still played last night in the NECC. The win last night belonged to Eastside with a final score of Eastside 40, Garrett 30.

Indiana High School Girls basketball regionals and Indiana high school wrestling semi-state competitions are today.

In girls basketball regional action, the Lakewood Park Lady Panthers will first go up against North White today. The winner of that game will be in the Regional Championship for the title tonight.

The Centeal Noble Lady Cougars will battle it out today at the Winamac Regional in hopes of playing Bluffton in tonight’s championship game.

8 area wrestlers from Steuben County will compete at semistate today. Semi-State qualifiers include: Ryan Rasler, Isiah Levitz, Jed Levitz, Coye Blodgett (Blodge - ettt), & Troy Deetz all from Prairie Heights. Angola Wrestlers at semi-State today are Jett Boots and John Lanham. And one solo wrestler will compete for Fremont...and that is Jake Hull.

DeKalb's Madysen Snyder will continue to play soccer after high school. Snyder has signed to play soccer at Trine University.

It was a close call for the Fort Wayne Comets Friday as Wichita got a shorty with 1:50 to play in the 2nd. Despite Wichita’s hard fight in the end, the Fort Wayne Comets hold on and take the win 4-2.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have retooled their roster in part to convince star LeBron James to stay in Cleveland. The team traded six players before the deadline, a stunning flurry of activity that pushes it back into title contention this season. James can become a free agent this summer, and the Cavs are hoping they've done enough to keep him around.
