Westview Schools have found their new varsity boys basketball coach.
During Thursday night's meeting, the Westview Board of Education approved
hiring Ed Bentley as the new Varsity boys basketball coach and as a special education teacher.
Bentley spent eight years as the head coach of the Angola varsity boys
basketball team, where he compiled a record of 120-67 and three Sectional titles in 2016, 2018 and 2019. In addition, under Bentley's leadership, the Hornets won a regular season NECC Championship and two NECC Tournament Championships.
Bentley takes over for Rob Yoder, who retired in April after 17 years as the Westview boys basketball coach. During his tenure as head coach, Yoder compiled a record of 303 wins and 125 losses. In addition, Yoder's teams won 10 NECC Conference Championships; 9 Sectional Championships; 7 NECC Tournament Championships; 4 Regional Titles; 1 Semi-State Championships and were Class 2A State Runner in 2014.
Bentley says he and his family are extremely excited about joining the Westview community and can't wait to get started working with the basketball program.
