MUNCIE, IN - Over the weekend 5 area gymnasts from Steuben and DeKalb County took part in the state meet at Ball State’s Worthen Arena on Saturday. Before the weekend started the IHSAA announced only the participants, coaches, judges and support staff needed for the meet will be allowed through the doors as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Competing for Dekalb High School was Lauren Blythe, Kristen Azzue and Sarah Boyd. From Angola High School was Audrey Wilkson and Ashtyn Evans; however, Evans sustained an injury Friday night during practice that sidelined her from competition on Saturday.

Dekalb’s Boyd, and Angola’s Wilkenson both placed in the top 20 in the vault competition.

The Dekalb gymnast had top 40 placings on the bars, beam, and floor competition.
