The DeKalb Chamber Partnership announced early this morning at Business Before Breakfast that Shannon Carpenter has been named Interim Executive Director. Carpenter formerly served as the Chamber’s executive director from 2013 – 2015. She has remained actively engaged as a contractor providing marketing and design services.
Carpenter returns to the Chamber ready to dive in and continue the great vision the organization has been working towards under previous directors.
The DeKalb Chamber Partnership board of directors is comprised of 15 seats representing over 200 member businesses, schools, and nonprofits. The executive search team was made up of executive committee members, board members, and past Chamber leadership. Long time staff member, Terry Rayle, is also optimistic at Carpenter’s return.
In addition to her history with the DeKalb Chamber Partnership, Carpenter has provided marketing, graphic design, and web design services to clients throughout Steuben and DeKalb Counties. She was General Manager at the Brokaw Movie House during its time of historic restoration. Carpenter serves as President of the Policy Council for Vistula Headstart and attends SonLight Community Church. She resides in Angola with her husband, Nicholas, and three daughters, Annabelle, Aliana, and Adalyn. They enjoy summer days at Eckhart Park and attending community events around the region.
Carpenter will begin her role as interim executive director Monday, June 24.
