(LANSING) -- Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged from June to July.
According to data released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget, the State’s adjusted unemployment rate remained at 5.3%. Employment fell by 5,000 over the month, and the number of unemployed people edged down by 1,000. Michigan’s labor force decreased by 5,000 during July.
For the month of July, there were job increases in Other Services (0.6%); Government (0.4%) and in Manufacturing (0.4%).
Michigan’s July labor force total of 5,077,000 was the lowest workforce in the state since August 2024.
The Michigan July adjusted unemployment rate of 5.3% is up from one year ago when it was 4.8%.
