(MERRILLVILLE) – Three Northeast Indiana organizations are receiving grants for some of their programs.
NIPSCO has awarded 23 grants in Northern Indiana from their NiSource Charitable Foundation to further the organizations public safety initiatives. The funds have been used for community and youth public safety education projects; as well as training for first responders, police and fire departments.
Receiving grants this year are the LaGrange Fire Department for $5,000 which will be used for first responder emergency training; the DeKalb Fire Department is getting $4,000 for fire and safety education; and Elkhart County EMS is receiving $4,000 for leadership and training.
The grants range from $500 to $5,000.
