(STURGIS) – If you like local music, then plan on coming to Oaklawn Park in Sturgis Saturday.
The 14th Annual Homegrown Arts & Music Festival starts at 12 PM today. Event organizer Eric Wynes says he is impressed the event is still going on and is as strong as ever. LINKC.
Every kind of music will be performed on the main stage during the afternoon and evening. The highlight of the day is the one time only reunion of SonaKofa, their first performance in 17 years. Drummer Steve Klingler shares how the idea of a reunion came about. LINKD.
Klingler says he made some phone calls and the band said they wanted to play again. They will take the stage at 8 PM.
The Sturgis Kiwanis Club will be hosting a beer garden, while the St. Joseph County United Way will be selling concessions.
Local artists will be set up and there will be kids games and activities.
There is no admission charge for the festival.
