(NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured when their buggy was struck by a vehicle.
The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office says 84 year old Amos Miller of Shipshewana was driving north on County Road 925 West, when he crossed the center line and struck an Amish buggy that was traveling south. The buggy tipped over and landed on its side.
Amos Miller was not injured, and was wearing his seatbelt.
The driver of the buggy, 64 year old Elvie Miller of Ligonier, complained of neck pain and abrasions and was taken to Goshen Hospital. His passenger, 64 year old Betty Miller, also of Ligonier, had back pain and abrasions, and was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
Assisting at the scene were the Shipshewana Police and Fire Departments along with Parkview EMS.
