(BETHEL TOWNSHIP) – A Sturgis woman died over the weekend when she struck a tree.
According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, 40 year old Guinevere Mow was driving her SUV south on Block Road south of Slisher Road in Bethel Township at 3 PM Saturday. Deputies say the automobile left the roadway, going off the east side and struck a tree. Mow was pronounced dead at the scene.
A four year old child that was in the vehicle was flown from the scene to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo by Med Flight with serious injuries. Mow was not wearing her seatbelt. The child was properly restrained in a child safety seat.
Assisting at the scene was the Bronson Fire Department along with Life Care Ambulance.
