FORT WAYNE – A Leo man’s death while being held in the Allen County Jail is being investigated by the Indiana State Police.
In a press release on Tuesday, May 30 from the Allen County Deputy Coroner, Christopher Meihls, inmate Courtney Eugene Luckadoo, 35, of Leo-Cedarville was in the Allen County Jail for less than 45 minutes on May 20 when he suffered a medical emergency.
Luckadoo was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Luckadoo was booked in the jail for resisting law enforcement for fleeing officers in a vehicle and for physically resisting arrest.
An autopsy has been completed and Luckadoo's next of kin has been notified.
The exact cause of Luckadoo’s death in still under investigation by the Indiana State Police, the Allen County Police’s Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
