STURGIS – Another Sturgis organization has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a posting on their Facebook page, the Sturgis Historical Society announced that they have made the difficult decision to close the Depot Museum and Freight House for the rest of 2020. All scheduled year end events are now canceled and private tours will not be available.
The Historical Society says their top priority is the safety of their visitors and staff at this time, and they can not remain open safely at this time.
The Society encourages the community to keep up with what's going on by checking out their Facebook page and Instagram feeds. You can also order items from the Museum's gift shop for curbside pick up.
The Society says they will be roaring back sometime in 2021 with exciting new restoration projects, film premieres and a freight car's worth of local Sturgis history.
