LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP – One person is in custody following a pursuit in St. Joseph County.
Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says at 6:30 Tuesday night, his deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle on U.S. 131 near Wilber Road for a traffic violation. The driver, a 32 year old Galesburg man, failed to stop.
Deputies pursued the motorcycle, which eventually came to a stop on U.S. 131 near Gleason Road in Fabius Township, after experiencing mechanical issues.
The driver was arrested and was found to have several outstanding warrants out of St. Joseph, Kalamazoo and Allegan Counties. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.
