GREENFIELD TOWNSHIP – A weekend incident has landed a man behind bars.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office was sent to the area of County Road 1150 East and 300 South on Sunday to investigate a person riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed.
Deputies arrived and located the motorcycle which was parked, but there was nobody around.
LaGrange County Sheriff's K-9 Officer Klara was brought in and started tracking the suspect. Community members told deputies that the individual was Zachary Emerick, and was seen running north through some yards.
Officers spoke with the home owners in the area of the 4100 South block of 1175 East, asking them to check their garage to make sure nobody was inside. Officers and citizens found Emerick hiding under a truck in the garage.
Emerick was taken into custody and transported to the LaGrange County Jail where he was charged with criminal trespass and felony warrants out of LaGrange County.
Sheriff Jeff Campos would like to thank the citizens of LaGrange County for their assistance in helping to locate this wanted fugitive.
