There were 19 new cases of COVID-19 and 1 death reported over the weekend in Southern Michigan.
According to the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, 5 new cases of coronavirus were detected in St. Joseph County. That brings the total number of people infected to 119 and there have been 2 deaths.
Branch County had 11 new cases over the weekend, which makes 121 people
who have tested positive for COVID-19. There have also been 2 deaths in the county.
There were no new cases reported in Hillsdale County. They have 170 people with coronavirus and 24 people who have passed away.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says there was an inmate death at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater from COVID-19. There have been 23 deaths at the facility. No new cases were reported, which means 793 inmates and 34 staff members have the virus.
Over the weekend, 776 new cases of COVID-19 were reported around Michigan. That makes 57,397 people who have tested positive. There were 85 deaths, which makes 5,491 people who have passed away.
