Three individuals have been selected as the finalist for the
position of Bronson Schools Superintendent. A second night of interviews was held Thursday by the Bronson School Board.
A second night of interviews was held Thursday by the Bronson School Board with three candidates. They were Jessica Bucklin, the School Improvements, Curriculum and Behavior Consultant with the Jackson County ISD; Steve Wilson, the Superintendent of Constantine Public Schools and Kathleen Ramirez, the K-7 Principal at Holland Public Schools.
They were each asked several questions such as sharing a mistake they have made in the careers and what did they learn from it; their experience with getting grants and other forms of funding and describing their leadership styles.
Following the interviews, the School Board discussed with Mark Dobias of the Michigan Association Of School Boards about what they liked from all
six candidates and other questions they had. After several minutes, the Board voted unanimously to ask back Bucklin, Wilson and Suzanne Kavanaugh for second round interviews.
The three candidates will be available for a Meet And Greet at 4 PM on
Tuesday, December 10 in the Bronson High School Media Center. The interviews will start at 5 PM with Kavanaugh, followed by Bucklin at 6 PM and then Wilson at 7 PM.
It is hoped that after these interviews, the Board of Education will deliberate and select one candidate to begin negotiations with. These interviews are open to the public.
The Board hopes to have a new Superintendent assume their duties on January 2nd.
