ANGOLA, IN - Recently retired Angola Athletic Director Mark Ridenour was honored by the Northeast Corner Conference for his longevity and contributions to athletics.
Ridenour was recognized Wednesday evening at Angola High School during the Conference Track Meet. He received the NECC's Distinguished Service Award.
In addition to his service as a former Athletic Director for the MSD of Steuben County at Angola High where he retired, he was also a winning coach during his time as a teacher at Prairie Heights Community Schools. Ridenour coached some the best and winning teams for the Prairie Heights Girls Basketball program during the 1980s.
Current Angola High School Athletic Director Steve Lantz said, "On behalf of the NECC and Angola High School it was my pleasure to present Mark Ridenour with a distinguished service award for all his hard work and dedication to high school athletics."
In his retirement, Ridenour is a school board member for the MSD of Steuben County. He also works part-time as a driver for Trine University's Athletic Department. He and his wife Julie are also active in the community with the Steuben County 4-H Fair.
