(LAGRANGE) – The LaGrange Town Council has found the company to do a street project and the repaving of the Town Hall parking lot.
During Monday’s meeting, LaGrange Town Manager Mark Eagleson opened the bids that had been received for the Community Crossings street project. Bids were submitted by Niblock Excavating; Rieth Riley Construction Company; Pulver Asphalt Paving Inc., and API Construction Corporation.
Those four companies also submitted bids for the Town Hall parking lot repaving, as did E&B Paving LLC.
Once the bids were open they were given to representatives of DLZ Engineering, the Town’s engineering consultants. They returned and recommended that Pulver received the bid for the street project.
Pulver’s bid for the street work was $1,150,630.
For the Town Hall paving project, DLZ says the low bidder was E&B Paving LLC at $230,932.25. However, E&B Paving didn’t submit Form 1 and 2 of the bid forms, which is required for a company to have their bid considered. Since E&B Paving failed to do that, DLZ suggested going with the second low bidder.
The second low bidder for the parking lot project was Pulver at a cost of $235,678.75.
The Town Council approved both recommendations. Council President Ray Hoover thanked all the companies that submitted bids to be considered.
Eagleson says they should know by the next Council meeting a time line for when the projects will begin.
