INDIANAPOLIS - An unlikely pair of U.S. Senators were honored at the National Healthcare Price Transparency Conference in Indianapolis.

Republican nominee for Indiana Governor and current U.S. Sen. Mike Braun of Indiana and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont were recognized for their collaboration on LINKA.

During the conference Gloria Sachdev, the president and CEO of Employers’ Forum of Indiana, awarded both Braun and Sanders for their work on health care price transparency on the federal level.

“This is reforming the system, not more government spending on it,” said Braun according to the Indiana Capital Chronicle's Whitney Downward.

“I’ll keep pushing hard for the five months or so that I’ve got left... and if I’m successful in November — I’m going to be the most entrepreneurial governor the country’s ever seen on fixing health care.”

Other speakers at the conference included keynote speaker,
Mark Cuban, described as an entrepreneur, a venture capitalist, a businessman, and Co-Founder of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company.

Cuban spoke on the LINKB by the RAND Corp.

The study ranked Indiana as the 8th-highest in the nation for hospital prices.

The hospital prices study by the RAND Corp are comprehensive reports that are part of an ongoing employer-led initiative to measure and report publicly the prices paid for hospital care at the hospital and service-line level.
