(INDIANAPOLIS) – Unemployment rates went down around Northeast Indiana from July to August.
According to figures released by the Department of Workforce Development, LaGrange County had a drop in their unemployment of eight-tenths of a percent from 3.9% to a 3.1%.
Noble County also dropped eight-tenths of a percent from 4.8% to an even 4%. Elkhart County saw a drop in their unemployment rate of eight-tenths of a percent, from 5.2% to 4.4%.
Steuben County had an unemployment drop of three-tenths of a percent from 3.3% to 3% and DeKalb County went from 3.4% to 3.2%, which is a drop of two-tenths of a percent.
Statewide, the unemployment rate went up in Indiana from 3.3% to 3.4%. One year ago, the statewide unemployment rate was 3.1%.
