MIDDLEBURY, IN - Officials with Middlebury Community Schools say one of its staff members died by suicide in the parking lot at Northridge Middle School on Friday.

The district says none of its students were threatened or in danger at any time. However, the campus was temporarily on lockdown until police deemed it safe.

The Middlebury Schools Police Department and the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
