LAGRANGE – LaGrange County is in the process of updating their comprehensive plan, and they are asking for citizen input.
The process, called LaGrange County Together, is a partnership between the LaGrange County Community Foundation and the LaGrange County Plan Commission. It was launched in April 2021 and will last 16 months with several rounds of community engagement.
Octavia Yoder, Executive Director of the LaGrange County Community Foundation says they received grant funding in 2019 to look at community needs. They held some community conversation events and found out a new comprehensive plan was needed in the County). Yoder says a lot of projects and ideas were talked about at that time, but the question was how does the county work with all of the communities to get some if not all of the projects done.
Tyler Young, President of the LaGrange County Plan Commission says the comprehensive plan will cover such topics as roads, infrastructure, zoning, how to use county land and several other matters). The next Listen, Learn and Launch event is scheduled for today from 4 until 7 PM at the LaGrange Fairgrounds Community Building. This is a come and go event.
