ANGOLA, IN - Senior Sophia Kreag came off the bench to score a game and career-high 24 points and tied a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association single-game record with six three-pointers to help lead the Trine University women's basketball team to a 103-31 victory against Olivet College in a first-round game of the MIAA Tournament at the MTI Center in Angola, Ind.

Kreag was not the only Thunder player to record a career night coming off the bench as sophomore Sam Underhill poured in over 20 points with a career-best 22-point effort. As a unit, the Trine bench accounted for 71 of the team's 103 total points in the game.

Kreag ended the game shooting six-of-nine (66.7 percent) from the floor, including six-of-seven (85.7 percent) from three-point range and a perfect six-of-six at the free-throw line. Underhill scored her 22 points on nine-of-10 shooting (90.0 percent) and was second on the team in rebounding with six boards.

Junior Kelsy Taylor rounded out the double-figure scorers for Trine with 10 points and had a game-high seven rebounds.

Trine (13-2) dominated right from the start and held Olivet (1-9) to just three points in the first quarter. The Thunder tallied the first 24 points with the Comets' only basket coming with 26 seconds left in the period on a three-pointer. Underhill ended the scoring for both teams with a layup just before time expired to make it a 26-3 ball game after the first 10 minutes.

A triple by junior Tara Bieniewicz started the scoring in the second quarter and put the Thunder back out in front by 26 points and eclipsed the 30-point plateau with a little over four minutes to go in the half when Kreag connected on a three-pointer that made the score, 41-10. The Kreag triple was part of an 8-0 run and later led to Trine's largest lead of the game so far of 36 points with a halftime score of 49-13.

The Trine offense continued to cruise in the second half as the Thunder outscored the Comets, 29-8, for the period. Olivet began the third quarter with a jumper and a pair of free-throws, but Trine then went on an 18-1 scoring run that ended in one-of-two free-throws by sophomore Alyssa Argyle and increased the margin to 50 points, 68-18, with 3:04 remaining. Trine went on to lead by 58 points (78-20) following a jumper by junior Kaylee Argyle en route to the Thunder having a 78-21 margin heading into the fourth quarter.

Trine's offensive output didn't let up in the fourth quarter with a 25-10 scoring margin in the period. The final points in the game came off the fingertips of sophomore Alexa Porter with one-of-two free-throws that sent Trine to a 103-31 win and advance to the semifinals of the conference tournament.

The Thunder will host Albion College on Wednesday (Mar. 3) at the MTI Center. The semifinal matchup is slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
