Local High School Students Act as Statues at Museum
Friday Dec 07, 2018 10:49am
Auburn, IN

A presentation of 40+ influential people of DeKalb County is this Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. A partnership between the museum and Dekalb High School welcomes the New Tech Media Lit class as they show off acting skills and history knowledge from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in character.

Come take a walk-through history as actors celebrate and remember some of DeKalb County’s finest citizens in an original production, Cedar Creek Anthology. Experience the spectacular exhibits and galleries of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum and watch as the “wax-figure” actors bring to life the stories of significant Auburn Automobile Company figures and those who helped make this county what it is today. Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum Executive Director & CEO Brandon J. Anderson said, “We are excited to host ‘Cedar Creek Anthology’ for the second year in a row. The teachers and students have worked hard to bring history to life in a fun and engaging way.”

You will be issued a bell upon arrival. As you walk around the Art Deco marvel and come to a character such as August Duesenberg or Martha from Martha’s Popcorn, ring your bell and gasp as they come to life and tell their story. Cynthia Boyd, New Tech Media Lit & English 10 teacher stated, “The kids have worked hard! We would love for them to have a number of guests wandering through the museum to listen to their stories.” Journey through the museum and participate in a fun experience like never before as the actors stand still until it is time to share history. Call (260) 925-1444 with questions or contact Cynthia Boyd at (260) 920-1012 ex.2187.
