Each year over 500 young men in the State of Indiana attend Hoosier Boys State. Since it began in 1937, over 60,000 individuals have experienced the Hoosier Boys State program.
During this week-long program, junior-aged high school students will actively work together to win elections, propose laws, negotiate bills and enforce the legislation and procedures established from the local up to the state level.
John Custer, the 4th District Chairman for Hoosier Boys State, says that the experience impacts the lives of the young men who participate. He says many of the connections made follow them long after high school and even college.
Hoosier Boys State begins on June 11th and runs through June 17th at Trine University. For more information you can visit hoosierboysstate.org.
