Strong thunderstorms rolled across the region on Thursday Night and early Friday morning, bringing heavy rains and large hail. Golf ball size hail fell at Huntington which stripped the leaves off of trees. Hail two inches in diameter fell near Elkhart and there were more reports of hail at Millersburg and Wakarusa.

Heavy rain fell in VanWert and Defiance Counties of Northwest Ohio. Rainfall reports of 2 inches to 3 and a half inches came from Van Wert and Paulding, where some flooding of roads and streets occurred.

Intense lightning accompanied the storms but there were no reports of wind damage.

A marginal risk of severe weather is predicted today across northern Indiana with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rains all a possibility. A better risk of severe weather is expected across the area on Sunday.
