Teen Girl Saved In Routine Traffic Stop In Swanton
Thursday, April 18, 2019

A sex trafficking victim was saved by area officers. Troopers from the Swanton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol made an arrest during a routine traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike where they pulled over Juan Pedraza, as a 15-year-old girl was in the car as well.

Both Pedraza and the girl were from Central America, so language was an issue during the traffic stop for failing to yield. When a translator came to the scene, troopers confirmed the juvenile had been sexually assaulted by Pedraza.

The juvenile had been reported missing in Paterson, New Jersey. She was transported to a Toledo hospital for medical care as Pedraza was arrested, charged with felony abduction and taken to the Lucas County Jail.
