(ALBION) – Authorities have arrested a person after they allegedly embezzled money from the Noble County Fair.
Police arrested Robin Laymon on a felony charge of theft with the value of at least $50,000.
Noble County Court documents say that Troy Rucker, the President of the Noble County Community Fair Corporation contacted police to say that Laymon, who was the Fair’s Treasurer, had embezzled a large sum of money from the Corporation’s account.
Further investigation of the bank records uncovered that from October 2024 through May 8, 2025, Laymon had stolen over $367,000 by writing several checks from the account to herself or to cash.
Court documents also reveal that Rucker provided the police with a voicemail from Laymon, where she admitted that she had borrowed some money from the account and hadn’t paid it all back yet.
Laymon was arrested and told police that she took the money by writing checks, making withdrawals, and transferring money. She took anywhere from $500 to $60,000 per transaction. Laymon says she used the money to buy cocaine, pills, food, and to pay bills.
