Fremont Community Schools Begins Referendum Process For Second Time
Thursday, February 2, 2023

FREMONT — Fremont Community Schools is starting the process of getting a referendum on the ballot this May.

Starting next week, the Fremont Board of Trustees will once take the first steps toward putting the referendum on the ballot.

Monday night, on 2/6/23, a special meeting in the Superintendent’s Office, located at 1900 West Toledo Street in Fremont will start at 6 PM.

During the meeting Monday, the Board of Trustees will explore the adoption of a resolution in which the board will determine it cannot carry out its public education duty unless a referendum is passed to increase the tax levy, putting the measure in the form of a public question before the voters.

Fremont has been using an operating referendum until it expired last year. The first one was approved in 2015.
