ANGOLA, IN - The Steuben County Health Department urges all community members and visitors to participate in the Mask Up Hoosiers initiative. This new campaign by the State of Indiana and State Department of Health advocates that all citizens and visitors wear a mask when in spaces where a distance of six (6) feet cannot be maintained.
Local health leaders say this is imperative to prevent and slow down the spread of COVID-19.
The Steuben County Health Department says face mask usage by employees and proprietors of retail food establishments will be enforced by the Steuben County Health Department. Any food establishment that is not utilizing face covers can be referred to the Steuben County Health Department for investigation and enforcement action. Enforcement action includes one written warning followed by suspension of the retail food permit pending review by the Steuben County Board of Health.
Under Back on Track 4.5 the capacity at retail food establishments, bars and entertainment venues shall operate at current capacity. Bars can operate at a capacity of 50% or lower and restaurants can operate at a capacity of 75% or lower.
Steuben County has a total of 124 COVID-19 positive cases, 101 individuals considered recovered and 2 deaths associated with COVID-19.
