Branch County Animal Cruelty Investigation

BRANCH COUNTY, MI - An animal cruelty investigation in Branch County resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Bethel Township man.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the male suspect turned himself into authorities Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Office investigation resulted in 2 count felony and misdemeanor Animal Cruelty charges being issued by the Branch County Prosecutors Office against the man.

The suspect, who has not yet been named by authorities, was released after being booked at the Branch County Sheriff’s Department. Upon his release, he had to post 10% of his $5,000 dollar bond.

The injured dog, named Noel, is a female. She is now in the care of Animal Aid of Branch County.
