Peaceful Protest Held In Sturgis
Monday, June 1, 2020

Some Sturgis citizens held a peaceful protest in response to the death of George Floyd. A group of eight individuals gathered at Free Church Park Sunday afternoon.

Morgan Griffith was one of the participants and said they were peacefully
bringing awareness on the issue of police brutality against people of color. She said the group wanted to let people of color know they are not alone and there are others who will stand up with them and for them.

The group walked through downtown Sturgis carrying signs and received
several honks and waives from motorists.
