Holocaust Survivor To Speak In Coldwater
Saturday, February 22, 2020

A Holocaust survivor will be sharing her story in Branch County.

In a collaborative effort between the Branch District Library and Tibbits Opera House, Irene Butter will share her story of hope at a lecture and book signing at Tibbits on March 28 at 2 PM.

Butter's early life was spent with her family in Berlin. Her grandfather owned a bank and her father was a partner in the business. When the Nazis took power, they took the bank away from them, saying Jews could not own their own banks.

Butter's father went to Holland where he was able to find a job. The rest of the family joined him a few months later. But when the Germans invaded Holland, the persecution of Jews there escalated.

Doors for this free lecture and book signing at Tibbits will open at 1 PM. For more information, you can visit the Tibbits' web site which is Tibbits dot org.
