Changes Coming For Ohio Motorcycle Riders
Friday, January 24, 2020

If you ride a motorcyclists in Ohio, changes in state law may effect you as it would allow riders to wear earphones or earplugs while riding. This under a measure meant to ward off hearing loss, under a bill on its way to Governor Mike DeWine.

The House and Senate have both approved the legislation, which would prohibit motorcyclists from listening to music or other entertainment while wearing the ear protection. The Senate passed it unanimously on Wednesday.

Some lawmakers have argued that noise from the wind and engines can produce severe hearing loss for motorcyclists, including Senator Rob McColley, a Republican from Napoleon.

There is no answer yet as to whether or not DeWine will sign the bill into law.
