New Rates Approved For Bryan Municipal Utilities
Wednesday, November 20, 2019

It was officially announced that Bryan Municipal Utilities’ water rates will be raised each of the next three years, under a plan approved by the Bryan Board of Public Affairs.

The changes are part of a multi-year adjustment plan that was originally suggested back in 2018.

The fixed monthly service charge for most residential customers will increase to $8.25 this year, then to $9.50 in 2020, and finally $10.25 in 2021. That charge will be $35 and $45 respectively for commercial and industrial BMU customers in 2019.

Board members and BMU officials agreed the rate change is needed to ensure that necessary water infrastructure repairs and projects can be financed in an effective manor.
