A Defiance County man was arraigned on attempted murder charges late last week. Joshua Meeks was arraigned in a Defiance County courtroom where he pled not guilty to that, kidnapping, as well as rape.

Reports indicate that Meeks hit his wife repeatedly with a wooden club and threatened her with a large kitchen knife.

A pretrial hearing for Meeks is set for October, who appeared with his attorney, Danny Hill. The judge continued Meek’s $1 million cash bond, as he is being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
